Hello,

I have been using PARADISe for a while now to analyse some GC-MS data and never ran into this problem before. But recently i started a new session with chromatograms I have used before, and after going through all the models and picking the data i want to export and pressing the Export Selected Peaks button it generates an Excel report with only the Overview sheet (not the peak area, NIST match, etc. sheets). This occurs eventhough i selected the correct NIST path in the settings and while generating the report it even opens the small window showing the progress of the NIST search.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Guest,

I am assuming you are using PARADISe v6.0.1. We recently found a bug where too long sample names (more then 73-characters) would cause the error you describe. Is that the case for you? Note, this bug has been fixed for the next version of PARADISe.

Alternatively, there is a default setting (MaxTime) which limits how long NISTMS is allowed to search. The default is 5 seconds per spectra, you can try doubling it.

If neither of these solve the problem, then I suggest you to reset the paradise diary (in the Logbook tab) and try generating the PARADISe report again. This will fail, but the diary will now contain information relevant for us to debug the issue.

Best,
Jesper

Hi Jesper, where is the newer version of PARADISe?

On the website below I see only v6.0.1.

Hi Guest,

That is correct. The bug fixes has not been released, as no new version has been provided.

There is a longer story behind this. The short of it is, that to best support maintenance and development of PARADISe, it is being spun out of the University of Copenhagen and into a private company. This will enable the continuing of a free version of PARADISe (same features as now, but small improvement and various bug fixes) and a paid version of PARADISe that will have additional features.

The website for this and downloading actually came online this week, so you can try it now at http://www.kromath.com.

Best,
Jesper

Hi Jesper,

I've tried many times to change the settings (look up time) and it did not help. I will reinstall the PARADISe and will let you know if it helps.

Thank you for providing the new link.

Thank you,

Katarzyna

An update for future visits is that the issues appears to have been an error in how PARADISe imports the results from the NISTMS lookup. Specifically if compound names contained "unexpected" characters such as <, >, or ;

This has been fixed and made more robust to arbitrary compound names. This and other improvements are available in PARADISe v6.1.5 from http://www.kromath.com.
