A total of 109 honey samples (12 linden [Tilia], 14 sunflower, 47 acacia [Robinia pseudoacacia], 30 meadow mix, and 6 fake honeys) were obtained (Association of the Beekeeping Organizations of Serbia [SPOS]) during the 2009 harvesting season. The fake honey samples were produced during winter by feeding the bee colonies a sucrose solution, which was then converted to artificial honey by the bees. Information about the botanical origin of the other samples was provided directly by the beekeepers. The honey samples were stored at 20–22 8C in the original packages until the analysis.
