That sounds extremely annoying. Unfortunately, there is not much to go on, but I do have some suggestions.

First, in Explorer, open the folder C:UsersUSERNAMEDocumentsPARADISe, are there any files or folders there? In particular, is there a folder named default-session? If yes, is there a subfolder called paradise-output and does it have any content (especially a *-diary.txt file is of interest for debugging)?

PARADISe starts up in the default-session folder and if that session is corrupted, this can lead to errors. In Explorer, delete the default-session folder. Does PARADISe then start?

If the above doesn't work, have you tried to start PARADISe as an administrator? In the past there have been some issues where PARADISe tried to write to a folder it didn't have access to. We have tried to remove this issue, but perhaps we are still unsuccessful.

Lastly, are you using the installer with or without the MATLAB runtime included?

Hopefully one of the above helps, but do let us know what and also if it the issue remains.
